Business

Four disciplines, one organization.

Fashion, manufacturing, retail and bespoke. Most fashion businesses do one of these. Doing all four is harder — and it is why our product gets better faster.

The shape of the business

What exactly does Shreekama Elegance do?

We design and develop women's occasion, bridal, ethnic and contemporary wear. We turn those designs into garments that can be produced repeatedly and correctly. We sell them directly, in our own store and online. And we make couture to measure for customers who want something that is only theirs.

For other businesses, the middle of that chain is available as a service: product development and manufacturing, under your brand rather than ours.

The four areas below are not divisions with walls between them. A fit problem found in the Studio changes a production pattern. A colour that moves on the shop floor changes a range plan. That traffic between disciplines is the actual asset.

Fashion

Design, product and creative direction

The design side of the organization: what gets made, who it is for, and why it should exist at all.

  • Ethnic and contemporary ready-to-wear
  • Range planning and product architecture

  • Costing and construction feasibility

The ecosystem

From an idea to a wardrobe.

We participate across this chain for our own brands. For clients, we agree the stages we are taking on at the outset — some businesses need the whole route, most need a defined part of it.

Idea

A brief, a reference, a gap in a wardrobe.

Design

Silhouette, cloth, embroidery, colour.

Development

Pattern, construction, costing.

Sampling

First sample, fit, correction.

Manufacturing

Production, quality, finishing.

Brand

Positioning, presentation, story.

Retail

Store and online.

Customer

Worn, and worn again.

Why it is arranged this way

Integration is the point.

A design house without a workroom ships beautiful things late. A factory without a shop floor makes what it is told and never learns whether it was right. A store that does not develop product can only sell what someone else decided to make.

Holding design, making, selling and fitting in one organization closes those loops. The cost is complexity. The return is a shorter distance between noticing something and fixing it — which, in fashion, is most of the advantage there is.
