Capabilities

What we can do, and how it is organized.

The capability behind our own brands, described plainly — and available to businesses that need product developed and made.

Overview

Capability is a process, not a claim.

Anyone can say they make good clothes. What actually determines whether a garment arrives correct, on time and identical to the sample is a set of unremarkable disciplines: a pattern that is right, a specification that is written down, a sample that has been properly criticised, and checks that happen while the line is running rather than after it has stopped.

Those four areas below are how our capability is arranged. They apply whether the brief comes from one of our own brands or from a client.

Product development

Taking a concept to a made, costed, repeatable garment — construction, pattern, cloth and trim decisions resolved before production is discussed.

  • Concept interpretation
  • Fabric and trim direction
  • Pattern and construction
  • Costing and feasibility

Sampling

The stage where design decisions are tested rather than assumed. Samples, corrections and a written record of what changed and why.

  • First samples
  • Fit and correction rounds
  • Pre-production samples
  • Specification sheets

Production

Making the approved garment consistently, with checks built into the line rather than bolted on at the end.

  • Production planning
  • Cutting and construction
  • Embellishment coordination
  • In-line quality checks

Finishing and packing

The last ten per cent that customers actually notice: pressing, trims, labelling and packing to an agreed standard.

  • Finishing and pressing
  • Labels and trims
  • Packing standards
  • Handover documentation
The route

From brief to delivery.

Six stages. Each one exists to remove a category of error before it multiplies.

  1. 01

    Brief

We start with what you actually have — a sketch, a reference garment, a photograph, a range plan or a written specification.

    • Category, silhouette and intended customer
    • Quantity, price position and target delivery
    • Reference material in any form you have it
  2. 02

    Development

The brief becomes a garment on paper: construction, cloth, embroidery and trims, and an honest first view on cost.

    • Fabric, embroidery and trim direction
    • Construction and pattern development
    • Indicative costing and feasibility
  3. 03

    Sample

A first sample is made so the decisions stop being theoretical. Most of the real design work happens here.

    • First sample in agreed cloth or nearest substitute
    • Fit and construction assessment
    • Written record of changes
  4. 04

    Approval

Corrections are made and a pre-production sample is signed off. Nothing enters production on a verbal approval.

    • Correction rounds against a written change list
    • Pre-production sample and sign-off
    • Agreed specification, quantities and timeline
  5. 05

    Production

The approved specification is produced, checked in line rather than only at the end, and finished.

    • Cutting, construction and embellishment
    • In-line and final quality checks
    • Finishing, pressing and trims
  6. 06

    Delivery

Packed to the agreed standard and handed over, with the specification and sample retained for any repeat.

    • Packing to agreed standard
    • Handover and documentation
    • Specification retained for repeat orders
Specifics

The numbers we can stand behind.

We would rather publish nothing than publish a figure we cannot hold to in a production meeting.

Product categories
Women's occasion, bridal, ethnic and contemporary wear
Development route
Brief, development, sample, approval, production, delivery

Quantities, lead times and capacity are agreed per programme rather than published as a blanket figure — they depend on category, embellishment and season. Tell us what you need and we will tell you plainly whether we can do it.

Tell us what you need made.

Bring an idea, a reference or a full specification. We will tell you honestly whether it is a fit.
